Swimming 4 Weight Loss

Many dieticians recommend us to go swimming at least once per week. Swimming is always touted as one of the most effective methods for diet. Of course swimming is good to build our muscles but if our topic is about melting our excess fat, it seems swimming is not the best option. Even a slow jog is better than regular swim.

Since many Americans became obese in the recent years, scientists have been trying so hard to find which exercise would help our diet process. Among run, jog, and swim, surprisingly they announced that swimming is the worst option. People who run or jog regularly would lose their excess fat faster than those who swim regularly. Albeit we use all of our muscles when we swimming, but it doesn’t help us to melt our excess fat.

The first reason is about the appetite. When you are cycling or running, you always feel less hungry. Of course you will feel hungrier after you done with your exercises but after you swim, most people will feel extremely hungry. According to Prof. Burke, swimming doesn’t help our appetite at all. In fact it is a “curse” for our appetite. So it’ll be easier for foods to tempt your mouth and stomach.

Another reason is because swimmers always feel tired after they done with their activities. Compare swim and other kind of exercise by yourself. If you run 30 minutes today and if you swim 30 minutes tomorrow, you will feel much more tired tomorrow. It means you will become less active after you swim. Different with after you do usual and traditional exercises such as run or jog, you can still increase your metabolism by doing other kinds of exercise (because you are not as tired as if you were swimming).
