Cylaris claims to be one of the most advanced weight loss systems ever developed, backed by clinical study. The study referenced by the company was conducted on a formulation. Whether Cylaris is similar to the composition of formulation used in the study is not clear. If these two compositions are not similar, then the final results of the product may be questionable.

People around the world particularly in the developed world are ready to use just about anything at all to get rid of their extra weight. Success seems to be a distant dream for all these people. First, people fail to avoid gaining those kilos of weight. Once that extra weight has been packed on it becomes almost impossible to shed it.

Cylaris is one more product in the market for weight watchers. The company promoting Cylaris claims that their product is one of the best that has been developed for weight loss. They even claim clinical studies to validate their product, which seems to make their claim somewhat solid.

But Is It Really Good?

Let us try to see if the clinical study referenced is worth something. The clinical study referred to was carried out at the University of Yaounde in Cameroon. The formulation used in the study consisted of: Cissus Quadrangularis, Green tea, Chromium Soy, extract Selenium Caffeine, Folic acid, and Vitamin B.

The study suggests positive results of this formulation on disorders like excessive weight or high serum lipids.

The formulation in the study results in reduction of weight. It seems to help in the reduction of high blood sugar levels to bring them to a normal level. Higher serum lipids also show a tendency to be corrected.  Improvement in the cardiovascular risk factors is other highlight of the study.

However, one thing that is certain is that it is difficult to suggest that Cissus Quadrangularis is responsible for weight loss.

The lead author of the study has a patent on Cissus Quadrangularis as a fat loss agent. This may suggest a conflict of interest for objectives of the study.

Coming to the product Cylaris, the main component of the product is Cissus Quadrangularis, also known as Veld Grape. The plant is found in India and in the Indian traditional medicine this plant has been used for centuries.

Recent scientific research suggests the usefulness of Cissus Quadrangularis in bone healing and repair of bone fractures. However, there were no studies to support the claim that this plant is an effective weight loss agent. The above mentioned study suggests the use of Cissus Quadrangularis in the reduction of weight. But as the study was conducted on a formulation, it may not be a categoric indicator of the use of Cissus Quadrangularis for weight loss purpose.

If the Cylaris formulation is similar to the formulation used in the study, then Cylaris may prove helpful in the reduction of weight, based on the outcome of the study. If the composition of the two formulations is different then the results of Cylaris will remain doubtful.
